Students were shown how to create some sort of audio or enhanced podcast covering content that thie teacher identified as part of their curriculum.  The podcasts included news-type shows to interviews, role-plays to raps, and plenty of other genres of the teachers' or students' choice.

This project, with all the involved schools, started out mainly to try to better integrate the use of technology with the work done in the classroom.  Each group covered different topics from the curriculum, such as 'A Christmas Carol". 'The Vikings', 'The Romans and Celts', 'Me and my Environment', 'Our Solar System', 'the Victorians', 'Rhyme and Rhythm in Writing', and so on.

The content and curriculum covered in class had to be researched and a script of some sort had to be created.  In some cases, still images and photos could be found to help tell the different stories.

The project began with a planning meeting between the CLC facilitator and class teachers to discuss the time frame and topics to be covered.  Back at school, students busied themselves with research, script writing and basic layout planning.

During the first visit the CLC, the students were introduced to podcasting by looking at some examples and analysing their different styles and structures.  They also explored the software they would be using, Garageband, with a little help and guidance.

The next three sessions were dedicated to the creation of the podcast, starting with a discussion of the important things to keep in mind, and ending with putting the finished podcasts on a relevant website.  As well as this online presence, each pupil also received all of the podcasts on DVD, and those who had permission to bring their mobile phones to school were allowed to Bluetooth their podcast to it.
